New' Zealand Loan aaid Merdaivtile Company Ltd. report on stock sale bold 16th inst. The attendance was hardly up to the avemge and the continued spell of dry weather adversely affected the sale. However a good deal of sntisfactory business'was done. AYe yarded l 2830 sheep and sold 1919. Hats were in fair demand’, and' in other classes a- reduction i;n prices had to be accepted. AA'e look to demand, and prices' hardening when " rain comes. .Following are the days’ prices:—Fat ewes 11s to 11s Gd. i'at weathers 13s Gd' to 13s lOd, fat lambs 14s od, woolly lambs in forward condition 9s Gill, cull ewes 4s, store ewes firm -and upwards 8s to 9s, ewes- mixed age, good line 12s. Cattle: a slow demand ; entpred 153. Sold G2 lat folI owing quotations: beef cows £4 5s to £4 7s Gd, light beef steers £5 sa, dairy heifers 42s (id. to 50s, 12 to 15 months steers £3. 18 months steers £3 2s Gd.
