SATURDAY, JANUARY 11. (Before Mr. \V. A. 'Barton, S.M.) Alleged Breaking and Entering.— Frederick Sidney Spencer was charged wit.li having on January 4th broken aiul entered -the dwelling of John Clark, of Rakuuroa, and stolen therefrom two gallons of whisky of the value of £2 10s. —On the application of Sergt- Williams a remand until 20th iust was granted in order to enable the necessary witnesses to tie present.— Bail was allowed, accused in £SO and two sureties of £25 each. Alleged Insanity.—-William Henry Stafford who was arrested at To Araroa on a charge of being of unsound mind and was brought to town for medical examination, was discharged. The medical men who made the examination .testified that accused had admitted that lie had been drinking; heavily, and had been- sutfering from delirium tremens. They were of the opinion, however, thatlie was of perfectly sou ml mind.
