Alessrs Dalgety and Coy -and Common Shelton and Coy have decided in response to a. request from fat stock buyers, to start tlio salo of fat stock at - 10.45 a.m. in future, to be followed immediately by the sale of store stock. AIATAWIIERO STOCK SALE. The N.Z. L. and AI. A. Co. report as follows on Thursday’s sale: Owing to the continued spell of dry weather and the uncertainty existing in connection with prices, the sale was -a small one, and bidding was very “flagging.” Sheep: .Of mi entrv of 353 we sold 171 at prices which mark -a decline of Is to Is Oil on sales which took place a fortnight since. There were, however, no fair-sized lines of good sheep with which to gauge the market. Our sales comprised fat ewes at from 10s to 12s; fat lambs, light weights, 12s Id; 2-tooth, mixed, in good condition, 13s. Cattle: There was also an absence of demand in tins depirtmc nt. Our entry comprised 189, and we sold 99 at following prices: Beef cows, £4.5s to £5 for light weights; heavier weights. £5 2s_6d to £6 10s; yearling steers, £3 2s: two-year-olds', £4 10s to £4 12s 6d ; 24 to 3 years, £4 17s Gd to £5; 15 months’ heifers, £2 16s. Wo. also sold a shorthorn bull at £lO 10s. 4*igs were not in great demand. \Ye sold porkers at 23s Gel. -Our next sale will be held on 10th ' January. As previously intimated, weekly sales have now commenced. In response to a request from tlio Alaster Butchers it has been decided to sell fat sheep, cattle, and pigs at 11 o’clock, the sale of store stock starting at 11.30 a.m., as previously. Clients will kindlv have' entries of fats in good time! so that they may be open foj- insnection prior to 11 o’clock.
