During the absence of Air A\. J. Hawley, who left on Saturday tor Auckland on a moutlds holiday, the local Customs House will be in charge of Air James Mclntosh, of Auckland. Atessrs Bert Stagpoole. and Ken. Eglinton returned to Palmerston North by tiie Alonowai last evening, after having spent their holidays with friends in Gisborne. The funeral of the late Airs. Elliott briefly returned thanks, and expressed the regret he felt at leaving* behind the many friends lie had made in Gisborne. A number of musical items were rendered. Air. Elliott, left for Wellington by the Alonowai last evening.
