A number of games were played by tho Turauganui Club yesterday, the. in«n being occupied bofli morning Ind afternoon. It is very likely that tho semi-final of the Handicap Tairs mil bo played this afternoon between J Neill and Colley and Birrell and Martin. _ Inhere was a large attendance ol members at the Gisborno Club’s green nil day yesterday, and some intereotiing; games were played, both in tho morning and afternoon. The green played uv finit-class order. In tho morning tho two representative teams for Auckland had a match, which resulted la a win for Crawford’s team ever F. Martin’s by ‘2l to 18. The beams mot again in the afternoon, when Crawford was again victorious, this time by 22 to 12. The handicap pairs competition was advanced a further stage, when O. Hansen and F. A. Martin met Wilson and Cussen, -title latter receiving a handicap of 12 An exciting finish resulted, as on the 21st head the score stood at 21 each, and on the deciding head Hansen ‘drew a ball on to the jack and lay about six inches behind it. Martin then, played a block, and Cussen had no recourse but to drive, which he did, with tho result that lie hit the jiick, which in its turn hit Hanseji’s howl, and rebounded close to one of the front bowls which had been played by "Wilson, "Wilnon and Cussen thus winning a great game by one l*>int. Cither games resulted as follows: T'altiridge, H. Lewis, Wilson, Witty (skip) 35 v. Kyme, Morgan. Tavitt, Arab ridge (skip) 1.5; Bullock, Malcolm, Houlihan, and Birss (skip) 28 v. Cussen, Morgan.
