MAGNIFICENT SPORTS GROUND.

Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, Jan. 1. A big attraction to-day was the official-' opening of the magnificent new .sports ground at tho New Plymouth recreation ground. The terraces held about three thousand people this afternoii, and there was room for another 3000 easily. It is a natural amphitheatre, and said to he unequalled in Australasia. The ground has been made out of funds raised by a committee from a few sports associations, and about £I4OO has been expended on it to date.
