Land, per Nimrod, closo at Lyttelton uu Wednesday, Ist January, at 7 a. m.,” formally announced tho Chiel Postmaster, says the “Post.” Whether any people are exiled 111 King Edward VII. Land or not, there is substantial reason for tho despatch of letters to that forsaken region. For a penny or so anybody may have an interesting' souvenir of the Nimrod expedition. Letters may be consigned to missing friends or reilati'.-es on the off chance that thensteps have strayed to the Antarctic. The mail will, 110 doubt, bo stamped by Lieutenant Shacl.leton at King Edward VII. Land, and will come back through the dead letter office to tlio sender.
