SATURDAY. DECEMBER 28th

(Before Messrs It. Johnston and F. 4V. Riach, J.Ps.) Drunkenness. —Walter Harkins was convicted of drunkenness and was fined ss, with 2s costs, in default 24 hours’ imprisonment, . A first offender from Te Karaka for a li’ko offence was mulcted in tho samo amount. Joseph Geddes was remanded to the 6th prox. on two charges—drunkenness and procuring liquor while under prohibition. Alleged Theft from tho Person.— Thomas Charlies AVebstor appeared to answer a charge of having stolen £2, the property of Frank Treivin. Air. T. A. Coleman appeared for tho accused, and Deoective Aladdern conducted! tli prosecution. Detective Aladdern applied for a iremand until the 6th inst as his witness was up tho country and was not- aware that the case was to bo taken during the holidays. Air. Coleman objected to tho remand,, but it was granted by the Bench. Alleged Aggravated Assault. —Geo. Coxhead, on remand, was charged with commiting an aggravated assault on William Canian. AH. AV. L. Rees appeared for defendant. The informant did not appear, and Sergeant Williams stated that lie could not be found. The information was accordingly dismissed. Alleged Theft—Hare Alatenga was again before the Court and by arrangement a further remand was granted until the 6th prox.
