CAMERA OBSCURA.

Those who were not fortunate enough to have visited the Camera Obscura at the recent Christchurch Exhibition, will now have the opportunity of doing so. The attractive building recently erected at the junction of Trafalgar Esplanade and Kaiti bridge will bo open on and after to-morrow, wlien the beautiful and charming views to be obtained from the unique position will be reproduced in colored living pictures, in a series of about twenty subjects. This attraction was the most popular of any at the Exhibition, and was patronised by over 40,000 visitors. The building will he opened daiily. Full particulars will be seen in another column.

COOPER’S OPERASCOPE COMPANY. The box plan is now open at Mr. Will. Miller’s for Mr. Clias. Cooper’s New Year, season, ill His Majesty’s Theatre, commencing on New Year’s night. The season will consist of two night performances, aiul a matinee for country visitors and children on Thursday, 2nd January. The star film, or feature in the picture portion of the programme, will be Gilbert and Sullivan’s famous comic opera, “The Mikado.” Mr. -Cooper has communicated .from Auckland to the effect that this picture is one of the longest that has been imported to this country, it being even longer than the grand opera “Faust” film, which was shown on his last visit to Gisborne. A special feature ivill be made of the vocal and orchestral reproduction 6 of the lyrics and music of the “Mikado.” “Alice in ’Wonderland” pantomime is another subject referred "to in high terms. Amongst the comic pictures especial mention is made of “Jim’s Apprenticeship” and “Liquid Electricity,” which are said to be the greatest screamers seen in the Dominion. Theatregoers will have an opportunity of renewing their acquaintance with Fisher and Wilson, musical comedy sketch artists, who apipeared with Mr. Cooper’s company in His Majesty’s, Theatre ten months ago. Tiokets to all parts of the theatre may be procured at Mr. Win. Miller’s, arid will admit to early doors without extra charge.
