PERSONAL.
■Mr. A. W. P. Hewitt, relieving postmaster, arrived by last night’s coach from the Coast, where he has relieved the postmasters at Tuparoa and Tokomarq. Air. A. H. Wallis, the well-known East Coast run-holder, who is away in the Old Country on an extended tour, is, according to a private letter, expected to reach New Zealand in -July next. Mr. Fergus Dunlop, M.A., L.L.8., sen of Air. Ohas. Dunlop, has qualified as a barrister and solicitor, having passed the final section of the Bachelor of Laws degree. He will be admitted to tlie Bar by Air. Justice Edwards after the legal vacation. Mr. Dunlop matriculated at the Gisborne High School, and left to pursue his studies at the Auckland University, where he has successfully taken" all the steps leading to his presort position. The young Gisborneito lias made wonderful progress in the career 'he has chosen, for he is now only 22 years of age.
The Rev. J. B. Sneyd, _ who has been officiating at the Baptist Tabernacle for tho past fortnight, is returning to Auckland, and his successor, the Rev. Air. Lamb, arrives from Auckland' to-inorrow. Mr. Lamb is to reside here permanently. Air. F. Rowley, Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories, is expected to arrive in Gisborne to-day.
