THE HOLIDAYS.
United Press Association —Copyright (Received Dcember 26, 0.29 a.m.) SYDNEY, Dec. 25. Tho weather was fine for tho holiday, which was observed in tho usual semi-religious manner. Press Association. NAPIER, Dec. 26. Christmas Day was tlie wettest day we have had for two months, hut to-day- has been fiiio and pleasantly cool, and a large number of townspeople and visitors were dispersed in various directions, picnic parties taking tho bulk of them, though tho sports at Farndon Park and races at Petane were both well attended. AYELLINGTON, Dec. 26. The weather was perfect for tho holiday to-day. Large crowds were out picnicking at the various suburbs reached by car and at the harbor resorts. Ferry steamers and tram ears were kept busy-. So far no mishap has been reported. DUNEDIN, December 26. The holiday to-day was marred to a large extent by tho unseasonable weather. A very strong wind prevailed in tho morning, and shortly after midday iradn fell in showers, falling at frequent intervals during the afternoon.
