Pjiess Association. AUCKLAND, Dec. 26. The Premier arrived on a short visit to confer with Admiral Fawkes regarding defence matters of a confidential nature. He returns in the Powerful! on Saturday on a visit to the South, and leaves for a holiday at Stewart Island early in January. The body of a young man named Samuel McDonald, of Devonport, was found in the harbor near tho dock. Henrv Newman had his skull tractured through Stepping off a moving tramcar in the wrong direction. He arrived from Taranaki a few days ago.
