Lieutenant Sliackleion lias inlormcd Professor-David that as soon as the Nimrod arrives it is intended to despatch him with Messrs Joyce, Priestley, Mawson, ard Cotton on a pledge expedition-. Mr. Mawson, who is lecturer in mineralogy at Adelaide, is physicist and-chemist to tlie expedition.' Mr. Cctton is science demonstrator at Sydney. TOWING THE NIMROD. CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 26. Lieutenant Sliackleton states that the Premier has made tho arrangements with tlio Union Steamship Company fo-r the towmg of the Nimrod to the pack ice by the Koonya. The Nimrod will leave Lyttelton at 4 p.m. on January Ist, and will pick up the Koonya outside the Heads.
