The Natal Government as an act of clemency lias released 295 more of the aged rebels convicted in connection wit'll the insurrection of 1906. The general! oporations in Zululand have ended, but a composite regiment is retained at Vryheid in order to overawe malcontentents. Bambaata’s wife testified at Pietermaritzburg that lier husband told her that after visiting Usutu kraal in 1906 he had been scolded for not fighting the whites. Manuklumaua, Diniuzlu’s chief headman, after seeing Dinizulu tcikl Bambaata: “We summoned you here in order to tell you to return and fight. We give guns away. You begin, then we will start fighting.” PROTEST BY DINIZULU’S COUNSEL. (Received Dcember 26, 0.29 a.m.) LONDON, December 25. Mr. E. G. Jellicoe, who was engaged to defend Dinizulu, has written to Lord Elgiu protesting that his client’s trial is being differently to that of any of the King’s white subjects. IS BAMBAATA ALIVE?
