The Englishmen to-dav met the Victorian team, which with the exception of about three comprised tho belt players of tho State. Braund, ■Blythe, and Young stood out of tho visiting team. The weather was hot and very sultry. Hobbs and Cranford began batting, the lattn gate a chance before he scored. He afterwards batted vigorously and hit threo sixes. Haves and Hobbs had a fine partnership. Hayes when 18 av as badly missed by Armstrong. Hayes played a great game, fle lifted 1 1 arrant out of the ground. Hobbs play ed bis best innings of tho tour.
