BOWLING

At the Turanganui green yesterday afternoon the second round of the Handicap Pairs competition was commenced, when .Morse and Ratcline met Birrell and Martin, the latter pair receiving a handicap of four points. On the 11th head tho score stood at 9 all. On the next head Martin’s pair obtained a lead, which they kept to the third to last head, when the scores wore again even at 17 all. On each of the following two heads Martin obtained two, and won by 21 to 17, the difference being just the amount of the handicap. Birrell played his best leading game so far this season, -and Martin at times played some excellen t shots. . Morse played a consistent game, while Ratcliffe was in excellent form. The remaining game in tho round will be played on Saturday between Devery and Gaudin and Skeet and Williams, Neill and Colley drawing the bye.
