COMBATING INTRIGUERS. United Press Association—Cop/riqhi (Received Dec. 15, 4.50 p.m.) NEW YORK, Dec. 14. Mr. Roosevelt’s reiteration that he will not lie a candidate for the Presidency is interpreted as being intended to defeat the intrigues of some wire-pullers ostensibly working for Mr. Roosevelt but in reality for Mr. Cortelyou, possibly without Mr Cortelyou’s knowledge.
