Captain Cummings leaves for Auckland this morning to inspect the Harbor Board’s new launch which is nearing completion. During his absence Captain Martin will act- as Harbormaster. Mr'. I. S. Simson, Crown Lands Ranger, returns this morning from a short business visit to Napier. To-morrow Sirs'. Buckeridge will leave for Wellington, where she joins the Tongariro for London. Yesterday Captain Tucker and Messrs. Kenwav, MacDonald. F. Lysnar, and Matthews were appointed to represent the County Council on tho Board of HospitalL Trustees . Mr. H. E. Dodd, who has been connected for 13 years with the Gisborne branch -of the Bank of New South Wales, leaves for South to--morrow to take up the position of chief accountant in tho Napier b:anch of the Bank. „ Sir J. G. Ward has (states a Press Association wire from Dunedin) to the effect that the Hon. Y . Hall-Jones was to leave London on Friday for the Dominion. The Minister is expected to arrive in Wellington on January 28th.
