Last night .tlio Poverty ißay club started the races for tlie Seymour JJouiblo -Sculls. iNewton and AY. Pritchard (8 sec.) defeated J. AY 7 ebb and O. Ferguson (9 sec.) by about two lengths, and .S. Ledger and A.Knowsley (12 sec.) won by default from B. Lowe and F. E. Porter (5 sec.). The races yvill be continued to-night. The heats of the Schumacher Sculls (Gisborne Club) .were concluded last night. To-night Dustin and Kershaw meet in the final. GRIEALE SCULLING CUP. Dustin .and Kersliaiv will represent the Gisborne Club in the races for the Grieve Sculling Cup and Jones arid Nicholas will represent the Poverty Bay Club. Following are the chief conditions governing the contests for the Cup: Three delegates from each clhb, elected annually, shall forni a: committee of management. The Cup shall not become the property of any one club, but, should any member of either Club win the Cup three times, either at intervals or consecutively, it .shall become his own- property. There shall be two competitors from each cluo. The races shall bo run over the usual AY’ahiiata course. Tlie winner of the Cup is to hold it (for .twelve months or until it is next competed for.
