Tlie latest development of the Lithgow ironworks ouestion is that notice was posted to-day_tliat all-de-partments of the works, with the exception of the blast furnaces and iron mine at Carcoar, be closed down to-morrow. This will render 1750 men idle, and directly and indirectly affect 3000 persons. 4 - A deputation representing all classes of Lithgow waits on the Premier to-morrow to urge the Government to take steps to prevent the disaster threatening the town by the stoppage of works.
