Runs continued to come slowly, the first century being hoisted by McAlister cutting Fielder for 4. After an hour and threequarters’ play McAlister .and Gregory .brought the total to 137, when the latter went across to Blvtlie, who ,vus bowling vice Crawford, and mas o.v; lhw. Redgrave joined McAlister, and tlio nair added 2b runs. McAlister then hit Braund up to Fielder in mid-off and retired. Hayes partnered Redgrave, and scoring became brisk. Redgrave went' for the bpurling, and the second century was hoisted as the result of two hours play. fjedgrave passed McAlister’s scare amid~applause; hut shortly afterwards he was bowled, having hit up 66 in 46 minutes. Cotter and Hayes next settled down, and Cotter quickly ran into the twenties, but clien touched Fielder to Braund in the slips. Tlie catch was taken, hut no-ball was called and tho wicket ■was saved. An adjournment followed, and on resuming Cotter lifted Bi n mid over the fence for 6. However, he placed the next ball in Crawford’s hands at deep-on—B for 2 id. Evans came, and 10 were added.
