FATAL RIDING ACCIDENT.

At the coroner’s inquiry into the •death of Lucy Goldfinch, evidence given by Alice Stubbs, a schoolmate of deceased, showed that they were induced by a man identified as Emanuel White to have a ride on a horse. The pace at first iw-as slow, and soon •became faster. They slipped off. Deceased struck flip ground first, and witness fell on ton of deceased. Another witness stated that the children fell off when the horse began to buck. Edwin Hoick said White advised tlie girls not to go too fast. Although fairly close White did nothing to assist the children after the accident, White stated the pony was quiet and the > pace not more than a canter. The girls lost their balance and fell backwards. The jure found deceased died from injuries received'by falling off “White's horse, and that White contributed to tile accident by placing deceased on the iior.se and neglecting to take proper precautions for her safetv. White was at once charged with manslaughter, and remanded till Monday." He was allowed to go free on his own recognisance of £2O,
