On the Stock Exchange to-day there were ready buyers "for any small parcels of Wellington Gas, and these were again accepted at £lB 15s and £9 7s 6d, quotations which have ruled for some months past. N.Z. Shipping changed hands at £6 ss, with buyers offering a fractionally higher price for further scrip without inducing sellers to declare. After a long interval Taranaki Petroleums were dealt in. Scrip was accepted at Bs, but the demand was not sustained, and offers to sell at 10s met with no response.! Ngatawa at Is lOd and Wa ill i Consols at 2s were the only transactions in mining scrip. Talismans were wanted at £2 13s 3d, with holders asking 6d more, while Wailii would have been taken at £8 4s 6d. but this was Is 6d below holders’ (dews. Gear "Meats are still sought at £2 9s, and Wellington (£5 shares) could have been bought for £6 15s. Donaghy’s Rope shares appear to bo hardening, bids of £5 14s going empty away. Buyers of Opera House have increased their limits to £6 10s, but still, have a big gap to bridge. Christchurch Meats are at £lO 10s. Buyers show a tendency to firm for Union Steam, £2O os being vainly offered-
