WRECK OF BARQUE DUNDONALD.
MAGISTERIAL INQUIRY. Press Association. INVERCARGILL, Dec. 4. A Magisterial enquiry into the wreck of the Dundonald on Disappointment Island was hold to-day before Mr. McCarthy, S.M., Captain N. McDonald (Bluff harbormaster), and Captain Silba, of the Whakatane. Evidence given by the second and third mates and by Finlow, who was look-out man on the night of the wreck, disclosed nothing new. The fact was not known whether the vessel or cargo was insured. The findings are to-be given in the ordinary way. SURVIVORS’ BOAT, A' CURIO. V/ INVERCARGILL, Dec. 4. As the result of representations, the Mayor is to wait on the Curator of the Canterbury Museum and ask that the boat made by the Dundonald survivors he allowed to remain here and be exhibited. i
This afternoon, for the benefit of the survivors of the wreck, many people paid to see it, the takings amounting to £22 2s.
