ENTERTAINMENTS,

COOK’S PICTURES. The second exhibition of Cook’s Pictures was witnessed by an appreciative house last evening. The machine worked very smoothly, ana a splendid selection of pictures were given, the display surpassing that of the opening night. The illustrated songs were also admirably treated and enthusiastically received. The company will commence their country tour by appearing at Te Kanaka this evening. Waerenga-a-hika will be visited to-morrow evening, and Patutalii on Friday. MRS. BUCKERIDGE’S CONCERT. • That the programme to be submitted at to-morrow evening’s concert in the Theatre compares more than favorably with any submitted in Gisborne for a long time, will be seen by reference to the items. Mrs. Buekeridge, to whom the concert is being tendered, will give four soios, including “Ave Maria” (with piano and organ accompaniment, and violin obligato) and “Alas! Those Chimes” (with orchestral accompaniment). A high-class vocalist in every respect, Mrs. Buekeridge excels in these numbers. Airs. Phil Barry, who is sure of a cordial reception after a long absence from the concert platform, will render Adams’ “Idle” Words.” Interest attaches to the vocal accomplishments of Misses Pyk-e and Daisy Hlansen, who are making their debut and will sing “Spring Again” and “Ever of Thee” respectively. Dr. and Mrs. Bucke-r----idge will be heard in the duet “Beauty’s Eyes,” and Mr. and-Mrs. Kennedy will be associated _ with them in the quartet “Marjory, from “Rob Rov.” Songs by Messrs. Griffiths, Percy Adair, Williamson, Barlow, Teat, and Trafford Reynolds, ,i ’cello solo by All*. J. Adair, and recitations by Miss Pyke and Air. A. F. Kennedy make up an excellent programme. Indications point to a large audience on Thursday evening. ;
