The cheese market is slightly weaker, with less demand. Some holders are forcing sales. Buyers are holding back, expecting prices to go lower. The cheese shipped by the. s.s. Corinthic arrived in good condition, and is quoted at 60s. The liemp market is dull. Transactions are light, at -last quotations. DUNEDIN, Dec. 2. The shipment of American apples, ex Devon, by the Talune, arrived here in a pitiable state. , Tlie fruit was a particular variety of Baldwin apples, and carried very badly. Out of 600 cases for Dunedin, barely 100 cases of fruit were fit for consumption, the balance of it being condemned. This is a heavy' loss to the shippers.
