Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, Nov. 30. Tlio annual meeting of the Taranaki Oil and Eroehold Company was held last night. Tho report and balance-sheet Merc adopted. Messrs. F. P. Corkill (re-elected) and G. W. Henderson (Wellington) wero elected directors. Votes o ( i £IOO to chairman for the ensuing- year, and £IOO each to tho other directors for last year n-ere made. The manager stated that the bore u'ns non- down 254 ft, and had an excellent allow of oil that afternoon, but that should not be taken as anything a-t present. Much more rapid progress M as. now being made. ' A great blow-up occurred in the Birthday well at the petroleum works this morning, a mixture of oil, papa, and M-a-tor being thrown above the to]) of the derrick, and carried across tho road on to the blitter trucks on the freezing works siding. Two or three minor blmv-ups occurred during tlio week. These are regarded as excellent indications.
