Press Association. WELLINGTON,-Nov. 28. Decrees nisi were granted in the divorce cases, Levinia Dyson Smith v. Svdnev Smith, on tlio ground of desertion, and David Duncan v. Ewily Louisa Duncan, on tlio grounds of failure to comply with an order for the restitution of conjugal rights. DUNEDIN, Nov. 28. Allan Garth McGregor, who was found not guilty, on the grounds of insanity, on' a charge of shooting at y|>. w. E. Sargood, and was ordered to bo imprisoned in gaol during the Colonial Secretary’s pleasure, was released this morning. McGregor was employed at Sargood’s boot factory at tlio time of tho shooting, two vears ago. The charge against William Patrick Harrington, of stealing goods from the Mutual store, where lio had been employed, was continued at tbo Supremo Court to-day. Tlio defence set up was that a largo portion of . the goods alleged to liavo been stolen wero brought from Christchurch by accused’s wife, who had been in business there, and that, the remainder had been purchased by a lady friend for- Mrs. Harrington from time to time in Dunedin. The defenco was not completed when the Court- rose. •John Robertson, late hotelkeeper at Alexandra, was. found guilty of failing to keep proper books of accounts, and sentence was deferred. DANNEVIRKE, Nov. 28.
To-day, before the S.M., the police made application to have six children of .I. R. Johnstone committed to an industrial school. Tho children, five boys and a girl, were neglected for some time by their father, who .recently absconded from a maintenance ordor.
