ENTERTAINMENTS.
DOAIINION FAIR. Tho Dominion Fair was well patronised yesterday -afternoon. AlissLang’s orchestra rendered selections during the afternoon, and Airs. Collins contributed a song, for which she was accorded an encore and a bouquet. There was, again a good attendance in the evening, when proceedings wero enlivened by selections by the Club Orchestra. Air. Laurenson sang “AVlien I was a Boy at School,” for which ho received an encore. The waxworks exhibition was greatly enjoyed, tho following sustaining the characters Air. Jarloy, Air. Bruce; boy, Air. . Laurenson; babes in the wood, Alarjorie DeLautour and Evelyn Akroyd ; Chang and liis wife. Bob. McLaurin and Aliss Robinson; Alary, Queen of Scots, Aliss AVilson; Genera) Alite, Airs. Akroyd and Aliss K. Akroyd ; Pygmalion and Galatea, Airs. Blair and Air. Wells; Little Aliss Aluffett, Aliss Annio PeLautour; Aladame Alelba, Aliss Long; Sleeping Beauty, Aliss Cox; Prince, Aliss Gould, “You Dirty Boy,” Aliss Nolan and Alaster Parker. About twelve entered for the hattrimming competition, which was won by Air. AVinter Luttrell.
Tho farce, “Tho Area Belle,” was repeated, Aliss P.vko again being well received, the other performers also acquitting themselves creditably. At the end of the evening an auction was held by Air. AVaclismann, most of the surplus goods being thus disposed of. It is expected that the gross proceeds from the fair will be £l5O.
COOK’S P-ICTDRFiS. Those who appreciate a good,higJhclass picture show will doubtless be pleased to see that Air. Sidney Cook’s talented company appear at His Alajesty’s Theatre on Monday and Tuesday next-. Alost interesting programmes, interspersed with tlhe latest American Picture songs, are promised. A special feature of the entertainments will be the screening of several magnificently band-colored films, and a series of pictures depicting some of Australia’s beauty spots will be shown, nofiibly a long film depicting the famous Blarron. Falls (Queensland) in flood, specially cinema-tograp-lied by Air. Cook for the Government of that State. Popular prices will be eh-a rged.
AIRS. BUCKERIDGE’S CONCERT. At the complimentary concert to be tendered to Mrs. Buckeridgo at Hif Alajesty’s' Theatre on Thursday next, Airs. Buckeridge will contribute three items, one of which will have ail orchestral accompaniment. In addition to Aliss Pyko another singer will make her debut in the person of Aliss Daisy Hansen. -Items will he rendered by the Club Orchestra under the baton of Air. AI. L. Foster.
