At a meeting of the North Canterbury Hospital Board to-day a letter was received from the Otago Hospital Board, suggesting that the various Boards should join together to urge the Government to provide and equip a suitable bunding in a central position in the South Island for the* purpose of a consumptive . sanatorium for New .Zealand. It was resolved to reply that as Christchurch had already started a sanatorium, which it wat Roped would .meet the requests oi the locality, ‘ the Board could not .see its way to support the proposal to erect one sanatorium for the Dominion.
