BUSINESS NOTES.
In connection with tlio first of the season’s wool sales at Gisborne, on December otli, Daigety and Co., Ltd., notify that their catalogue closes on Monday next. After the sale of pledges (at I p.m.) is concluded to-morrow, Messrs. Malcolm and Co. will offer, at their mart, Dow e-street, a large entry of useful ho-usehold furniture uud effects, without reserve. Mr. W. A. O’Meara advertises a wide range of lines, in to-day’s issue. Consignments of potatoes-, onions and new fruits are to hand.' Among farm and station and general requisites are Cooper’s sheep powders ail'd fluid dips, woolpacks, woolpockets, and cornsacks, fencing wire and staples, corrugated iron, etc. A land transfer notice, dealing with the issue and register of a provisional certificate, is advertised bv tlie Land Registrar. Mr. Geo. Smith has a second-hand tank for sale. “Broody” advertises for a clucking hen for setting. An advertisement deals with the rapid triumphs of prohibition in America.
Two front rooms, furnished, with use of kitchen, are to let. Mr. W. D. Lysnar advertises for a reliable family to undertake the work of a dairy (up to 100 cows) on shares.
For a long period Mr. J. Melvee has carried on business in back premises pending the erection of his new premises fronting Gladstone road. Mow, however, the building is nearly completed, and on Saturday Mr. McKee is, as lie says in an advertisement in this issue, “coming to the front,” that is, he is shifting into liis new premises on the main road. He will open with an absolutely new stock in all departments. Owing to a dissolution of partnership, the business premises at present occupied by Messrs McLean and Co. are to let.
