ACTUAL LOSS TO THE GOVERNMENT £87,617. Press Association.
WELLINGTON, Nov. 23. A return, showing the receipts and expenditure of the reeent Exhibition from 27tli May, 1905, to 31st October, 1907, was presented to tho Houso yesterday. The total expenditure was £239,970, and the actual loss made good by tho Government was £87,617. Tho receipts included the following items: Spaco fees £24,687, admissions £44,322, realisation of properties £16,469, season tickets £8,483, side show royalties £5,854, concert hall revenue £5,166, Besses o’ the Barn. Band £3,419, Seddon Memorial concert £469. Tho expenditure items included the following: Refunds to the Government £27,117, main building £67,872, concert hall £6,433, organ £3,346, art gallery £0,639, machinery hall £16,417, fernery £2,567, lavatories £3,149, preparation and maintenance of grounds £4,466, decorative expenses £1,328, statuary £3',776, furniture and fittings £2,666, concert hall working expenses £2859, orchestral expenses £7093, art gallery working expenses £4044, general exhibition (handling) £6,005, West Coast Court £1,453, fireworks £I,HO, Besses o’ the Barn Band £2828, wages of gatekeepers and attendants _ £O,O/b, fire prevention £2,704, Galaxies and office expenses £7,612, travelling expenses and allowances £1,903, printing advertising and stationery £7,09'1, insurance fire* and accident £4,504, gas £5,221, electric light and._power £7,606, general expenses £2,89/, realisation exponses £3,392.
