Press Association. NELSON, Nov. 25. A trap occupied' by Mr. T. M. Grant, Chief Draughtsman, and Mr. Fairliall, Surveyor of tho Lands Department, Nelson, capsized when crossing the Mntnkitaki river on Sunday. Mr. Grant suffered a fracture of the leg, and Mr. Fainhall a sovoro shaking. They were taken to Murchison for medical attention. Wilt A N;G*A 11 El, Nov. 20. Two young ladies bathing at it.be mouth of tho Matapouri river were carried off their feet by tho rapid •tide into deep water. Mrs. Pullman, bathing with thorn, went to (their rescue, and caught liokl of them, but could not regain tho shore., Mrs. Clements, who was •riding' past, dismounted and plunged in, fully dressed, and got tho girls on to' a. rock. Cries for help brought down Mr. Clements, who nvns rafting f.urther up the river, •anil the party, were rescued from their perilous position. WOODVILLE, Nov. 25. A man named Herbert Bell, employed at lviirlccaldiie and Stains’, Napier, while riding a motor biko, ran into a fence at- a curve near tho railway station, and received a deep cut over tho left ear and had n wound oil tho thigh. Ho was insensible when picked up, and will take somo weeks to recover.
