■DUNEDIN, Nov. 23. The hearing of the claim made by W.’ .lTarriiiran against tho London Dental Company for damages amounting to £2OOO was continued today. • Several medical men wero examined on behalf of plain tiff’s case, .their evidence being to- the effect that the condition of plaintiff pointed to the .existence, of a .tooth or some foreign substanco in tho lung and that in extensive anaesthesia for the extraction of a largo number of teeth a medical man or expert in the administering of the aiiaes-. thotic should be in charge. .Several! dentists were also called, who spoke to tho rules followed iby themselves. Air. Hanlon opened the case for defendants, and stated that evidence would be called to show that plaintiff’s condition was duo to a tuberculous complaint. He argued that even if a foreign substance was actually in tho lung it had to he .proved to tho satisfaction of the Court that its presence was duo to negligence and want of skill oil the part of defendants. Defendant, Aloses, gave evidence that ho and a young lady attendant were present during the preliminary stage of placing plaintiff under gas, and that then tin attendant named Milroy came into the room and .assisted. Alilroy Attended to the sponges, Aliss O’Keefe administered the anaesthetic under superintendence, while witness did the extracting of the teeth. Witness detailed how every cure was taken .and everything he could think of done to resuscitate tlfe (patient, when lie collapeed.
