MEDICAL INSPECTION OF SCHOOL CHILDREN.

Press Association. INVERCARGILL, Nov. 23. 'file 'Southland Education Board held a conference last night with several medical men to discuss the scheme of medical inspection of school ' children formulated by Dr. Alason in July, 1900. This Board claims to bo the first that has made any attempt at a practical method of carrying out the health officer’s wishes, though several Teachers’ Institutes have already favorably, considered them. The general feeling expressed by medical men was that satisfactory results could bo obtained'only by inspection by medical experts. It was decided to ask the local doctors to take in hand the inspection of the smallest local school (Park school). The Board hopes from information thus obtained to ho able to formulate' somo comprehensive scheme of medical inspection.
