Reuter’s Toulon correspondent states that the submarines Bonite and Souffleur at a depth of 90 feet collided during a sham attack on the battleship Jaufequibery, owing to an error of judgment on the part of the Bonitc’s commander. The Souffleur’s conning tower .was struck, and the vessel began to fill and ascended to tho surface. Tho Bonite, coming to assist the disabled vessel, again collided. The rest of the fleet noticed nothing, though only 400 yards aw;ay. Tho submarines regained port safely.
