A PETITION AGAINST DISSOLUTION. REFUSED BY THE GOVERNOR.

At a joint meeting of the Kidstonites and Laborites all the members signed a memorial protesting against dissolution being granted, at the present juncture. . r When the .Assembly met to-day, Air Philp gave formal notice for the granting of supply prior to the dissolution. Air. Kidston moved an amendment that before supply be granted tho memorial be presented to the Governor protesting against tlie granting of a dissolution. MiV'Kidstonls amendment was carried by 37 to 27. Tho House adjourned to enable tlie petition to be presented to tjio Governor. When, ro-nsfembling the Speaker announced that the Governor replied declining to withdraw the dissolution. Tlio Governor thought it better that the country should express its opinion on tlie situation.
ATr. Philp moved the adjournment-* of the House. The debate is proceeding. ;
