CRICKET. ENGLAND V. N.S.W. VISITORS 9 WICKETS FOR 289. United Press Association —Copyright (Received 7.59 p.m., Nov. 22.) SYDNEY, Nov. 22. There was fine weather and a strong breeze for the start of the game. The wicket was hard. Hutchings gave a nice exhibition, though he was somewhat lucky. Johnson, bawling capitally,. struck his length early. There was very slow play till Rhodes and Hardstaff became associated. With four wickets down for 118 the new partnership carried the total to 207 before being separated, both batsmen succumbing in succession. Barnes and Crawford were uncomfortable against the bowling ol Cotter, who got a terrific pace on. At 233 Crawford was dismissed by Hop'kins for 17, seven wickets having fallen for the total mentioned. Play then became very tedious, Barnes and Humphries stonewalling. When I tumphries was dismissed Blythe and Barnes pursued similar tactics, and crept slowly into the double figures. A brilliant catch by Noble at point disposed of Barnes. Fielder, the last man, played out time, when the score stood at nine wickets for 289. Scores:
