ST. ANDREW'S GARDEN PARTY.
Yesterday afternoon -the weather was all that could be desired for the garden party held in Miss -Morice’s pretty -grounds, -Ohildcr’s Road, under the auspices of the Ladies’ Guild connected with St. Andrew’s Presbyterian ' Church.
Tlio Mayor (Mr J. Townley) on behalf of the Mayoress performed the opening ceremony. He -referred to -tho consistent generosity of Miss Morice, who had lent her grounds for similar functions on many previous occasions.
A number of stalls were arranged amongst the trees and presented a pleasing sight. Following is a list of the -stalk with the attendants:— Plant and flower stall, -Mrs G. J. Black and daughters; produce stall, Mesd-ames McLeod, PI. Adair, Riacii, ■and Mitchell; plain and fancy work stall, -Mesdames AVittv, Graham, AYarren, and Quigley; refreshment stall, Mesdames Church. East, Skillicorn, Friar, Nisbett-, McCli-ve, Johnston, Rowley, Levey, Missesßed-w-ard, Church (2), and Campbell; sweet stall, -Misses -M. Witty, Skillicorn, and A. Quigley; Christmas tree, Mrs. Colebourne, Misses J. Rosie and F. AVitty; bran tub, Misses Cox anil S. Skillicorn; handkerchief stall, Misses McAra and Solvander. Tho children indulged in games under the supervision of Miss -Matlieson and Mesdames Kane and Barlow. There was a shooting gallery under tlie charge of Mr L. Red-warti, •and Mr F. S. Malcolm controlled a nail-driving compe'titio n.
