Gladetone-road. —The report was adopted. ENGINEER’S REPORT. The Engineer reported that Mr. Brosnahaii had seen him regarding his tender for work bn Abattoirroad. Mr. Brosnuhan asked for 6s 6d .per yard for shingle and 25s for ■formation. This offer was not accepted, as being against the wishes of the Council. Cr. Sawyer moved that Mr. Brcsinahan: be offered £1 2s 6d for formation and 6d more for catting. Carried

GENERAL

Mr. James Innes wrote pointing out that though the residents of Stanfley-street paid water rates they received no benefit from the water supply, as no .pipes were laid in the street.—The Mayor said there were four houses in the street. —It was decided that Mr. Innes be informed that as soon as possible the extension would bo made. The special order closing a part of R’oebuck-roid was confirmed.

Mr. Harry Magniusson wrote ‘forwarding a sample of limestone from the Ormond Quarry, and offering to supply it at the Quarry at 23 Cd a yard or at 5s a yard at Wiaiilrirere station. lOthe-r stone could toe supplied lit itihe quarry at Is 6d yard. A five-ton truck f.roni AVaihirere to Gisborne would cost 13s 6d. —No action was taken.
