PERSONAL.
On Saturday morning iMr. and Mrs. F. E. Gaddum returned from a trip to England. Among the passengers from South on Saturday , were the'Rev. W. Grant and Mr. J. Parker, Matawhero, who had been attending the Presbyterian Assembly in -Wellington. Colonel. Porter, who' has'been on a short visit to Wellington on business connected with his ' department, returned by the. Zealandia on Saturday. Mr. D. Jf. Dustin returned on Satuurday from a business visit to Palmerston and Wanganui. - G. E. Darton and W. Morgan left for South last night to attend the meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Education Board at Napier. Mr.- Emerson, lately Assistant Government Veterinarian in Gisborne, who has been transferred to Hastings in a similiar capacity, left last night for his new sphere of work. Miss McCarthy, who lias’ been relieving at the telephone exchange for some time, left yesterday for Wellington for orders. At the 1 reisidenco of the bride’s mother, on Saturday, Mr. Parker John Hill Crone, second son of the late Cnptn in Crone, was married by the Rev. R. Gardner to Miss Esther Mary Rice, eldest daughter of tho late Mr. Clias. Rico. Tho bride was given away by her brother, Mr. A. H. Rice, and was attended by her sister, Miss Ethel Rice. Mr. C. G. Crone acted as best man. After the cereinony the happy couple left for their'futnre homo in Auckland. Mr. Grahanl', who lias been in the Hospital for some time as the result of a trap accident on tlie Taruheru bridge, is now practically recovered, •though he will have to stav for a short time in’ tlio Hospital' to 'recuperate.
(Mr. F. J. Lysnar, who recently underwent an oneratiou for appendicitis. is making steady progress towards recovery, though it will bo some time before he will, be about again.
•Mr. W. DM Lysnar, accompanied by Airs. Lysnar, left- for the South last night. Air. Bagnall, managing director of the Spiral Pipe Co., AVanganui, who lias been on a visit of inspection tothe company’s work on the ' local waterworks scheme, returned South last night.
U- Lowe, secretary of the A.M.P. society, who lias been on a business visit to Gisborne, returned to AY ellington by the'-Zealandia last evening. Mr. W. A. Barton, S.M., arrived back from AYairoa last night, and will preside at a sitting of tho S.M. Couit this morning. ■
