Tlio barque Bengairn, -which lefit Newcastle for Attofagasta on "November 2nd, was towed into Sydney in a crippled condition. The vessel had a thrilling experience on the const. After making the offing she encountered a terrific gale, aiul tho cargo shifted. Tho barque with a gi-eat lurch went on. her beam ends, and great seas thundered all over her. The hatch coverings started, and water began to find its way below. The masts were cut away, to save the vessel. She was 300 miles off the coast- at the time, but the captain managed to make the coast safely.
