ARBITRATION AMENDMENTS.

A LABOR BODY ANTAGONISTIC. Press Association. DUNEDIN, Nov. 12. . Tho Trades and Labor Council this evening passed tlie x following resolution at a. special meeting held to consider the Arbitration Act amendments: “That the Alinister for Labor be requested to amend the Arbitration and Conciliation Act to provide for tho member and acting-member of the Arbitration Court being elected by the unions instead of as at present being appointed on the recommendations of unions, and that the results of the voting be jiublished.” In regard to the amended Bill the Council decided that it could not see its way to depart from the previous decision expressed in the recent manifesto which was condemnatory of the measure.
