Tlio fourth prize mooting under tlio auspices of tho Poverty Bay Rifle Association was held on the Ku.iti rauigo yesterday. The weather was against good shooting. Thero was no wind, hut the very variable light greatly puzzled the shooters. All arrangements on tho range were capably carried out by Call tain Beero and his non-coms. Tho only ono of the four riflo clubs'iiin the 'district represented at tho meeting was the Tinii'Oito Club, seven members being present. One 'member of tlio Himimua Mounted Rifles (Sergeant Siiiton) participated. The meeting was a thorough success in every way. {Following are the scores of the prize-winners: Dominion Match —Seven shots ait 200 and 500 yards; 20 prizes, value £lO. —(Private Somervell 61, Cnpt. At the Coleman Shield competition held at Waipawa, the shield was won by tlio Hastings Rifles with the record score for this competition, since it was reduced to 12 men aside, of 1020. Hawke’s Bay Mounted Rifles were next with 1000; Woodville Rifles, 990; Napier Rifles, 990; Ranfurly Rifles, 975; Napier- Guards, 971; Dannevirke Rifles, 970; Paliiatua Rifles, 622. . Sergt. Marshall (Pahiatua Mounted Rifles) takes the Button Cup for the highest individual score" amongst the mounted corps, and also the Champion, belt for lliigliest individual score in the match, with itlio fine score of 98.
