SALE OF ELDERSLIE YEARLINGS
Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, ISov. 7. ■ The annual draft of Elderslio yearlings came forward to-day, -tho majority being in fine condition, and only few 'having traces of their winter coats. There was a largo and representative attendance at tho ringside, and most- of the lots were steadily and well - competed for, the sale being the best an the history of tho stiul. The TesuLt t\vas due to tlie excellent quality and good average or the large number of lots submitted. Lots 11 and 12, a bay filly by Stepniak—Rosella, and a chestnut colt by St. Ambrose —-Pol-tana, did not arrive, and were not offered. The highest price was brought by a bay colt by Alenschikoff —Armilla (a full brother to Armlet), who was purchased by .Mr. H. Gasford, oT Oriengi" station, for 825 guineas.
