A band of 33 prisoners marching under tho escort of IS soldiers from Tumen to Tobolsk attempted to escape from their night quarters though they had chains on their feet, beizin”' some carbines and cartridges they fought desperately in the darkness. Twenty-two were killed, but the rest escaped, tliree being subsequently lecaptured. ___________
