Canterbury, light weights, 3Jd, and North Island 3jjd ; heavyweights, Canterbury 3Jd, North Island 33d. Tho lamb market is steady with a very good demand. Canterbury is at 5Jd, other than Canterbury 5Jd. The beef market is quiet. New Zealand hind quarters 3 Id, forequarters 2td. Supplies of River Plato are heavy. The butter market is firm, owing to reduced supplies. The high juices ruling restrict business, and encourlage the sale of substitutes. This season’s iNew Zealand manufacture is 'at 1235, Danish 1295, Siberian 113 s, and Argentine 120 s. The cheese market is quiet, blit steady. Canadian colored makes G3s,. white Q2s. The hemp market is somewhat steady, but the demand is principally speculative. Good, fair grade on spot is at £29, fair £25 10s, fair current Manila £29. Bradford tops are quoted as follows: Thirty-sixes (low crossbreds) Is 3id; forties (low crossbreds) Is 4d, forty-fours (medium crossbreds) Is sd, fifties (halfbreds) Is 10 )d, fiftysixes (quarter-bretls) 2s Id, sixties (merinos) 2s 4d.
