CRICKET.

ASSOCIATION MEETING. A meeting of the P.B. Cricket Association was held last niglit in the British Empire Motel. Mr. W. J. Gibson occupied the chair, land there was a lair attendance. ' A letter was read from Mr. Adair, on behalf of the Schools cricket team, asking to be admitted to the proposed second grade competition. Tho Common, Shelton and Co.’s Club wrote entering for the Thursday competition. The selectors of the Thursday matches reported that their eleven for tho match on King’s Birthday was as follows: Babb. Harker, Torkington, Barnby, Young, Pine, Olsen, McConnell, j. Gibson, J. V/ack, and Kaipara. The selectors of the Married men gave their team as follows: Plallamore, Charles, Lasker, W. Gibson, Dr. Collins, W. H. Wack, F. Sharp, J. Lang, Coop, S. Wilson, cand McColl. Emergencies: White, Emanuel, and Maude. Play is to start at 10 a.m. sharp. S . . Those players desiring of playing in a second Married v. Single match are requested to send their names in to the secretary, when a match may he arranged. A special meeting of the Management Committee will be held next Tuesday to consider a letter from tho Cricket Council regarding qualifications of players. Mr. Maude read his weekly balancesheet.

The second round of tlie Thursday competitions was arranged as follows: Union v. Common, Shelton and Co. Applications were received from applicants for the position of groundsman. After a ballot tlie chairman gave his casting vote in favor of Air. Torkington at £1 10s per week for threo days’ work. Mr. Cary resigned as ground committeeman. After a vote of thanks to the chairman the meeting terminated.
