GISBORNE CLUB. Last evening the semi-finals of the Gisborne Club’s Trial hours were rowed over the Waimaba course. Cummins and Swinnerton were tho first to start, and got away together, both rowing well. Swinnerton established a slight lead, which lie maintained until a few lengths from the winning post, when Cumming s crew, with a splendid spurt, overhauled lnm and lust won by tho narrowest ot margins. Hamilton beat Bright at tho start, gaining about half a length, but after rowing a short distance the •latter was once more on even terms, and eventually gained the advantage; winning comfortably by a length, loxiiirbt Cumming’s and Bright's crews meet in the final, and judging by the form displayed by each o c them, a Tattling good race should ensue, the draws for tiro next series o - races will be imido ii the boatsh d to-morrow evening
