A MUNICIPAL MAGNATE’S SOLILOQUY.
I sometimes think the Rosq, is red, I sometimes think it’s green. I sometimes think the Cauliflower’s The fairest thing I’ve seen. I sometimes think the world is round, I sometimes think it’s flat. I sometimes think I really am Just talking through my hat. I sometimes think that Gibbon’s wrong, I sometimes think lie’s right. I sometimes think my brain is soft And very often light. I sometimes think the Harbor’s good, I sometimes think it’s not, I sometimes think the whole concern Is dreadful tommy-rot). I sometimes think that things look fair, I sometimes think they’re blue. I sometimes think I’m mixed up with A very motley crew. I sometimes think the rates aro high, I sometimes think they’re low. I sometimes think the Turncock is Tlio best-paid man I know. J sometimes think I won’t retire, I sometimes think I will. I sometimes think, and think, and think, And I am thinking still. —THE SPRING POET.
